Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
An attractive specimen of large inky scorodite crystals to 17 mm with pyrite and quartz matrix. Not many of the specimens had associated quartz matrix. The crystals are an inky deep blue, with excellent brilliant luster. There is contacting on two of the scorodite crystals, as evident in the photography. This miniature has the largest crystals for this size specimen of the entire lot.

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
An aesthetic specimen of large inky scorodite crystals to 14 mm with pyrite and minor quartz. The arrangement of the specimen consists of three pillars coming from a base, and the scorodite crystals perch on these structures. This specimen shows a high contrast between the metallic pyrite and deep blue scorodite. On one side of the specimen there is a nest of fine crystals, as seen in the photograph. Some of the scorodite crystals enclose pyrite, which imparts a brown color.

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
A nice miniature consisting of pyrite crystals surrounded by a skirt of scorodite crystals. The arrangement of the pyrite and scorodite covered surface is convex, with a crystalline scorodite. On the reverse side, the scorodite opens into a pocket of beautiful blue crystals to 4 mm. This is an interesting specimen showing the diverse range of color of scorodite over less than one inch distance!

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
This specimen is a plate of scorodite, one face showing brilliant blue crystals to 7 mm, and on the reverse showing larger 10 mm crystals with crystalline pyrite. Both sides are displayable, and their striking dissimilarity shows essentially the entire variation in specimens from the entire find, but in one compact example.

Scorodite and Pyrite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
A nice miniature consisting of central pyrite crystals surrounded by a skirt of scorodite crystals to 9 mm. This specimen has an aesthetic triangular shape matrix with scorodite crystals on the acute peak of the matrix. The scorodite crystals have formed out to the edge, and show no damage towards the display face of the specimen, but have contacting along the edges of the specimen. This is a bargain scorodite miniature.

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
A curious specimen of intergrown scorodite crystals with accesory pyrite, this piece has a pocket of beautiful blue crystals to 7 mm. The crystals in the pocket have the best color, and the pocket sits in the middle of the specimen. Could be trimmed, but as the specimen is now, this is an excellent hand specimen of scorodite.

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
A mound of scorodite crystals to 11 mm with generous sparkling pyrite crystals. The scorodite crystals have a brilliant luster and a deep blue color. There is a bit of white quartz on the side of the specimen. The specimen is in good condition with a few broken crystals on the edges of the specimen. This is the kind of specimen that the buyer may wish to trim down slightly, depending on taste.

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
An amazing small cabinet specimen, consisting of a ridge of pyrite crystals with scorodite crystals on top. The scorodite crystals are bright blue and reach 12 mm across. Excellent arrangement; if the buyer wishes this specimen could trim into a fine miniature specimen as well. The whole display surface is actually curved inwards, so that the scorodite crystals present themselves forward from the pyrite matrix. This actually creates a focusing problem, as seen in the photographs. Excellent!

An excellent combination of pyrite and scorodite, with beautiful blue crystals to 12 mm. The best crystals nestle between fingers of scorodite and pyrite crystals. The specimen is an open cluster of the two minerals with projections and depressions full of perfect crystals. A stunning specimen for display.

Scorodite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
A nice miniature of essentially solid scorodite with a prominent beautiful blue 6 mm crystal. The backside of the crystal is complete, but shows etching. From the front face, this is an excellent display specimen. Currently this specimen is large for a thumbnail, but the buyer has the option to reduce the size to accommodate a Perky box.

An excellent small cabinet with brilliant inky blue scorodite crystals to 16 mm. The edge of the prominent crystal is contacted, but the remainder of the crystals in the vug are complete. This particular piece has a brighter luster than most, and sits well. There is minor quartz on this piece.

A large cabinet specimen with much relief, including scorodite crystals to 1.6 cm. Excellent luster on these inky blue scorodite crystals, and great contrast with associated pyrite. Some of the scorodite crystals show contacting near the edge of the ridge on the specimne, but can be displayed without noticing.

Scorodite with Pyrite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
Scorodite crystals to 7 mm and pyrite crystals form a flat surface on one side of this specimen. Behind this face of the specimen is a large pocket of blue crystals of scorodite also to 7 mm. This could be broken into multiple fine miniatures or displayed to show the complexity of formation of these specimens.

Scorodite with Pyrite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
This is a sculptural specimen with inky blue scorodite crystals to 11 mm intimately crystallized with pyrite. The largest crystal has a contact on one side, but the specimen could be displayed without showing this. An excellent specimen, which could possibly be opened into a smaller but finer miniature.

A nice specimen with high relief. This is an open cluster of pyrite and scorodite crystals. The scorodite crystals reach 20 mm on this specimen. Some minor quartz crystals add a bit of additional contrast to the brilliant inky scorodite crystals.

Scorodite with Pyrite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
This is a sculptural specimen with beautiful blue scorodite crystals to 10 mm intimately crystallized with pyrite. Many of the scorodite crystals stick out of the base of the specimen, on fingers of pyrite. The specimen is in excellent condition, with only a contact on a crystal on a distant edge from the display face. This would look excellent in a display case, with a striking contrast between the bright blue crystals and the brassy pyrite.

Scorodite with Pyrite - Hezhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
This specimen hosts a scorodite crystal 37 mm long! The scorodite has copious inclusions of pyrite which stain the crystal brown, but retain the bright luster. This is a museum specimen for someone looking for the largest crystals of minerals. This may be the largest crystal of the find; I have not seen larger crystals from China. This is a museum size matrix specimen.
